Benefit from Avoiding Mistakes by Using a Consultant

The major thing that a sound and knowledgeable chiropractic consultant can do for you is to help make sure that you avoid common pitfalls and open your practice right. That’s exactly the service that Practice Starters performs, as they work towards the success of each of their clients who are focused on starting a chiropractic practice.

Sound Budgeting

One of the biggest mistakes made by those starting a chiropractic practice has to do with making smart financial decisions. Many chiropractors who are about the embark on their first business venture end up spending too much on office space, supplies and equipment and staff. They find their finances drained and what often makes things worse is they have overestimated the number of patients they would be serving and retaining.

Chiropractic consulting companies such as Practice Starters are able to utilize their vast knowledge of the industry to make sure you’re using each of your startup dollars wisely. They can advise chiropractors on how much cash they need to comfortably run their business and where to best spend that money.

Smart Marketing

Marketing is essential when it comes to starting a chiropractic practice. There are various forms of marketing, including advertising, the utilization of social media, blogging and more. Marketing includes signage outside your place of business and helpful pamphlets and brochures inside. Google reviews and maps, search engine optimized blogs and webpages and many more types of exposure are essential in order to get to be known by your potential local and regional patients. Working with a smart chiropractic consultant will enable you to create a recognizable and marketable brand.

The Right Location

Practice Starters stresses the need to place your practice in the right location. Buy that they mean locating your chiropractic office first in the right state, as there are certain states that offer more opportunity than others. Along with that is the necessity of setting your practice up in a town that will offer you plenty of patients and then making sure you office is in a convenient part of town that people frequent.

The office itself should be accessible, which means plenty of parking nearby, easy entry, especially for people who are suffering with various types of pain and weakness. The interior should be well lit, patient-friendly and setup to encourage a logical flow of traffic, making it easy to process those who are coming in and those going out. One of the hallmarks of Practice Builders is their ability to determine how large your office should be and in what manner it needs to be configured to make it run efficiently.

Knowledge of Every Level of the Industry

When starting a chiropractic practice it’s difficult for a chiropractor to know each and every aspect of the industry. That’s why chiropractic consultants exist. They have the knowhow and experience to help those who are starting a chiropractic practice get it right from the beginning. That means sound revenue and a viable practice.

For chiropractors who want an edge over the competition, Practice Starters (http://www.practicestarters.com ) founder Dr. Peter Fernandez offers insights and tips that help practitioners pick an office location that will attract and welcome patients, offers efficiency and is affordable. Practice Starters offers insightful development and marketing services that are dedicated to helping chiropractors realize a profit as quickly as possible as they develop a successful practice.

St. Petersburg, Florida,
February 26, 2012—

Dr. Peter Fernandez knows that chiropractors interested in starting their own business face many hurdles. With that fact in mind he developed Practice Starters (http://www.practicestarters.com ). This consulting service is focused on helping chiropractors over the numerous challenges they face when starting their own practice. Over the years, the doctor discovered that there were many mistakes that chiropractors made. These mistakes were related to the administration and development of their business.

“I find,” says Dr. Fernandez, “that often chiropractors who think they are ready to start their own practice are lacking in business skills and knowhow. This can quickly undermine a practice. Even if they have some sound business ideas, they often lack the experience and depth of knowledge necessary to succeed. That’s where we come in,” notes Dr. Fernandez,. “Practice Starters can make sure that the doctor picks a great location for their business. A great location includes convenience, value, enough room to allow for traffic flow and more.”

Dr. Fernandez notes that it is essential for a chiropractor to succeed they must discover a “Hot” location for their practice. Using special tools, Practice Starters determines which states are “hot”, that is best for starting a new chiropractic practice. The Practice Starters system utilizes psychographics and demographics to make an accurate determination of what states are ripe for new chiropractic practices. Also “Hot” towns and “Hot” locations are determined by the service.

Dr. Fernandez notes, “Many times a chiropractor will decide to setup business in a town or state that simply does not have the right demographics. When that happens, they are fighting an uphill battle. You don’t want your location to work against you.” The knowledgeable doctor adds, “When you’re starting any business you must be aware of which are the best places for your enterprise Choosing a “Hot” location can result in 30 to 50 additional patients per year. That’s a substantial number. At the same time, it’s important to stay within your budget as far as office space is concerned. Spending too much on your lease will siphon off profits.”

Dr. Fernandez offers a wealth of industry experience to his clients. Prior to practicing in Florida, he spent more than three years as an Associate at the Boutwell Chiropractic Clinic of Augusta, Georgia. At that time, the Boutwell Chiropractic Clinic was one of the largest chiropractic service providers in the United States. He’s the author of the popular and comprehensive five volume set entitled Secrets of a Practice Consultant, Volumes I-V. Dr. Fernandez is also responsible for writing over 100 articles on various subjects, including athletic traumas, examination procedures, neurology and management methods for numerous professional journals, such as Share International, Chiropractic Economics and The American Chiropractor.

One are that new chiropractors lack experience and knowledge of is in lease negotiation. Many chiropractors don’t even know that they can negotiate their lease. Dr. Fernandez brings almost a half-century of business and chiropractic experience to the table when he teaches chiropractors how to save money by negotiating their lease.

St. Petersburg, Florida,
February 25, 2012—

Dr. Peter Fernandez understands how difficult it can be for new chiropractors to start their own business and be successful. He took his vast experience and knowledge of the industry and created Practice Starters (http://www.practicestarters.com ). One of the important goals of his company is to teach his clients how to cut expenses while developing a quality chiropractic practice that is successful and prosperous.

Dr. Fernandez observes, “I’ve been in the profession for 50 years, and learned a lot about the business aspects. The thing is a chiropractor is a well-educated health professional who knows how to treat people for numerous ailments. The new chiropractor has been schooled in the business aspects of the profession, but they lack practical knowledge and that leads to them making mistakes that cost them money.” The doctor adds, “One area where the new chiropractor seems to always make mistakes has to do with negotiating their lease. Most simply don’t know they can or don’t know how to do so. Learning how to successfully negotiate your lease can save a lot of money.”

In addition to teaching proven methods and offering useful tips that can be utilized to successfully negotiate their office lease, Dr. Fernandez can also help his clients find the right location for their business. In terms of location, Practice Starters first designates Hot States that would make great venues for a new chiropractic practice. Within those states they also designate towns and specific locations that are hot. These are places where demographics reveal that healthcare services are needed and will be used. Dr. Fernandez also uses another tool, psychographics, in his analysis of “Hot” locations.

“Many chiropractors,” says the founder of Practice Starters, “simply don’t think about negotiating their lease. They find a space that they like and accept the terms even though those terms may be detrimental to their practice. They don’t understand that everything is open to negotiation. We teach chiropractors to be able to acknowledge the benefits a building owner can realize from having a successful business leasing his real estate for an extended period of time.” The doctor and business consultant adds, “No one wins if the healthcare professional cannot make his rent.”

Before practicing in Florida, Dr. Fernandez was an Associate of the Boutwell Chiropractic Clinic of Augusta, Georgia. This was one of the largest Chiropractic clinics in the United States. He’s worked for years teaching others in the field negotiating and business techniques. Along with writing five books, including Secrets of a Practice Consultant, Volumes I-V, the doctor has authored more than 100 articles on athletic injuries, examination procedures, neurology and management procedures for various professional journals, including Share International, Chiropractic Economics and The American Chiropractor.

A Smart Chiropractic Consultant Can Put Your Business in the Right Place

It is essential for anyone starting a chiropractic practice to find the right location. Location can make or break your new enterprise. Hunting around on your own can be time consuming and frustrating. A chiropractor can look for weeks and weeks and still not find the right office. With frustration and confusion setting in, they may simply settle for an office space that might or might not meet their needs. The end result can be the failure of the practice. Dr. Peter G. Fernandez created Practice Starters because he realized that so many new chiropractors were struggling and often seeing their businesses fail due to the fact that they had selected the wrong location.

What’s in a Location?

What Practice Starters emphasize is that the right location is important for many reasons. The other thing that the chiropractic consultants know is that most new chiropractors have no idea how much space they require and they don’t understand how to configure it to get the most out of their venue. Plus, there’s the whole problem of pricing and paying too much for an office.

The office needs to be roomy enough to allow for the various business and medical aspects of the practice. It has to allow for a flow of traffic, be easy to access and offer convenient parking. Finally, patients, staff and doctors must feel comfortable in the environment. This last elements relates to everything from size of examination rooms to waiting room furniture and from exposure to natural light to using wall decorations and coverings that are pleasant to the eye.

Hot Locations

Practice Starters is interested in ensuring that the chiropractic practice you are envisioning is in what they call a Hot Location. This is an area that has the right demographics to ensure your enterprise will have a solid chance of attracting plenty of new patients and retaining them.

The chiropractic consultants at Practice Starters are not at first trying to help you find the right location in a particular town. First, they are interested in making sure you select the right state as depending on when you decide to invest in your practice certain states will hold more promise than others.

If you do decide to set up business in a Hot State, they will also help you find a Hot Town and a Hot Location in that town. For someone starting a chiropractic practice, it’s important that they give themselves the best chance for success by setting up practice in an area that offers a wealth of opportunity. The great thing about using a chiropractic consultant such as Practice Starters is that they have refined their capabilities to find the perfect place for your practice.

Success Requires Traffic

When you’re starting a chiropractic practice it is not as simple as saying “if you build it, they will come.” Locating your office in the best state, town and neighborhood possible gives you the ultimate opportunity to succeed. Using a chiropractic consultant can make all the difference in the world.

The Right Staff Can Make the Difference Between Success and Failure

If you’re starting a chiropractic practice, you may know just about every you need to about treating a range of maladies. But what do you know about choosing your staff and making sure that they are properly trained? You may be a topnotch practitioner, but if you have a staff that is disorganized, not knowledgeable or lacking proper training, you’re patient satisfaction can be low and your retention rate dismal.

Getting Help

The fact is when starting a chiropractic practice you have two choices. You can do it on your own or you can utilize a chiropractic consultant. Going it on your own may save you some money in the short term, while using a consultant can make you more money in the long run and it may also ensure you see a profit more quickly.

Dr. Peter Fernandez, who created Practice Starters, has developed systems and methods designed to help those who are starting a chiropractic practice in various ways, including financial planning, patient retention and staff hiring and training. Using a chiropractic consultant such as Practice Starters can payoff in many ways.

Staffing Questions

Knowing how many people you need to hire, who to hire and how to determine if they are qualified for your staff positions are important aspects of setting up your chiropractic office. A solid chiropractic consultant will be able to offer helpful tips that will guide you as you work towards building a staff that is reliable, friendly and knowledgeable.

Often those you are starting their chiropractic practice will either hire too many or too few staff members. They may over anticipate office needs in terms of how many patients they will see or what types of services they’ll offer. On the other hand, some practitioners who are just starting a chiropractic practice will underestimate how much time billing, making appointments and generating paperwork will take. They may understaff, finding their workers swamped. The result is everything seems to be behind schedule, including payments from insurance companies.

Understanding the Business

By working with a chiropractic consultant who understands what questions to ask and knows how to budget appropriately, the doctor who is starting a chiropractic practice can rest assured that he/she will have the best chance possible to create an office environment that is organized and productive. Utilizing a knowledgeable consultant such as Practice Starters means that the newly formed business will enjoy the benefits of having someone with years of practical experience guide them through the process.

The end result is that the new practice is instantly productive and is being run on a budget that allows the chiropractor to start making a profit. Two other major benefits of working with a chiropractic consultant are more satisfied patients and a more productive and happier staff. Tips regarding hiring and training will not only save you money, it will also offer those who enter your office an instant image of professionalism.

Negotiate the Business Landscape with the Help of a Topnotch Consultant

For those who are starting a chiropractic practice in 2012 the business landscape can be extremely tricky. Doctors soon discover that there’s a lot of competition. Plus, when you first start your practice money can get tight. Many doctors have found that working with a chiropractic consultant can make the difference between success and failure. By enlisting an expert in the field to assist you in the creation of your practice, you’ll veer away from making common costly mistakes.

Dr. Peter Fernandez, who created Practice Starters, helps chiropractors develop successful practices quickly and efficiently. Those who work with a chiropractic consultant such as Practice Starters are able to use the company’s insights, tools and methods to assure success.

Business Planning

It is essential that someone starting a chiropractic practice have a sound business plan. If not handled properly and prepared for cash flow issues, questions regarding supply and demand and office costs can create a huge amount of strain. For someone who is starting to build their practice, these issues can be huge.

A solid chiropractic consultant will be able to help you put together a viable business plan that will include methods for attracting and retaining new patients, proper assessment of office needs and expenses and ways in which you can build a strong reputation within your community.

An essential aspect of marketing and development is the establishment of your practice’s brand and getting it recognized quickly and often. With decades of experience, a thorough understanding of trends and innovative business practices, Dr. Fernandez has developed a program that ably assesses and aids in administering all financial elements connected to starting and running your chiropractic practice.

Setting Up Shop

Location is a major concern for any business and when a doctor is starting a chiropractic practice they must be especially mindful of how much exposure they will get at a given location. Plus, their office needs to be easy to find and accessible.

A chiropractic consultant will be able to make sure that you give your practice the best chance of success by finding a great hot location. That includes determining what state, town and specific address offers the best fit. In order to find the right location, practitioners must comprehend population shifts, demographics and the patient pool.

Smooth Runnings

If you are attracting new patients, you’ll also need to retain them. Offering excellent service in all ways, including processing insurance claims efficiently, keeping appointments on time and providing first rate follow up, is essential.

As you know, the Practice Starters® Program recommends that all its clients join civic clubs. However, many doctors get discouraged when they don’t get immediate referrals from their chosen club. But, there is a “tipping point” (when the referrals start) from every civic group. It takes time to gain respect and build trust. Trust is essential when making networking contacts. The referrals that come from a particular civic club starts when the first member becomes a patient and reports back to the group about their good experience with you and your staff.

Don’t just join civic clubs for personal gain. Be involved and interested in everyone else’s business. Help them! Be early or at least on time to each meeting. If you volunteer to do something, exceed their expectations instead of merely meeting them. Usually civic clubs sponsor a charity or a cause i.e.: purchase of glasses for poor children etc… Choose the causes and organizations that you care about. Don’t join a group that represents a cause that you don’t have any interest or passion for – people will smell the sell, pick up on your insincerity, and lack of interest.

Make your membership count. Get involved, participate, be a leader. By doing so, you’ll reach the “tipping point”.
